There has been an increase

There has been an increase in the number of job interns during the belastung few years. (The top companies of Great Britain, for instance, would report an increase of mora than ten percent from last year.) It would mean more college students are wise beyond their younger years. They want to jump start on their careers at an early age, which is a positive sign. But theres a catch. If you happen to be a college student who is about to earn that valuable (college) degree soon, then youll be tempted to look for companies that offer intern jobs. You dont find a vacant position, submit your CV, schedule an interview, and accept the offer right away. This is rather a thorough process, where there will be hits and misses along the way. Its part of the experience, which will give you more insight into the professional world. Here are the other things to keep in mindYou must know what you really want to do. Some intern jobs last several weeks, even a few months long. There are other (internshi p) positions that can be one year long. Time wont be a factor, as you must figure out your career objectives. If you want this kind of work, then your experience will give you a competitive advantage when you look for similar positions later on. The longer you work in that particular company, then the more contacts youll make. It will be up to you if this will work to your favor, which leads to the next item. Show your interest in your chosen field. You cant be a lone wolf in the professional world, as you get to know your workmates. Theres nothing wrong about asking them about the job, as this will give them an impression that youre interested in it. And good questions will make them think that you care about it. If this is what you really want, then youre on the right path. You might get what you want earlier than what you expect. You must have a notebook. You cant remember all the tasks you do especially the important ones. And there will be moments when youre waiting to leave the office. (And youll never be more restless than a Friday afternoon.) Make sure that you have a notebook, where you can jot down everything and anything. It will be handy when you need to update your resume. Its all about details. Dont read your notes. You might include a menial job, and you have second thoughts about it. Dont disregard it, as it may turn out to be the very skill that your next employer is looking for an applicant. Read though your notes, and do it again. You must understand it. Dont hesitate to seek clarifications from your colleagues. Apply it.You must show your enthusiasm. Youll never get what you want if you play the passive role. The silent worker doesnt click all the time. Its about timing, as becoming a bit too enthusiastic may not give you what you want. And you dont want to give your workmates a misleading impression on you. The world is waiting for you. Good luck
